It is time for a legitimate SEO conference in Atlanta. I’m just saying. West Coast has it locked. The SEO Conference Circuit twists and turns through the West Coast, hits Chicago and New York and then gets on a boat and heads for London.
Not Fair.
Leave a comment if you want to help organize this thing or if you have resources or if you know others who will be interested.
I will update this post regularly with intermediate goals and projects as well as a description of progress.
Thanks,

Just buy Search Engine Optimization for Dummies and save thousands, that book will teach you far more than any conference can.

SEO for Dummies is supposed to be pretty good - I made an acquaintance that said he read it on the way to his first entry level SEO interview and that he got the job.
Of course, there are dozens of good reasons to get together with others in your field, share knowledge and applications that otherwise might have been missed. I like attending AIMA and Atlanta Web Entrepreneurs - I’ve made lots of friends and have people that I can get in contact with when I have a question that is a little too specific to be covered in a for dummies book.
It’s a good point that you make - at one time I really thought that conferences were the inner sanctum where all of the secret sauce SEO techniques were taught. Now I know that networking is just networking - and if you find it fun it can really work for you.
Thanks for your thoughts - I wish you the best and maybe if we get a SEO Conference here in Atlanta we can figure out a way to get free tickets so that we don’t have to pay thousands.
